We are learning to use google sheets.  I have made a mine craft skin. First I changed the size of the squares on google sheets.  Next I chose a mine craft skin to make.  Here is my first one.

Success Mantra

This is my Success mantra. We have been learning about what success means to me. I filled in the chart with pictures of what success look like, feels like, what I can get when I am successful and what I can do to get there.

Dinosaur

I hare been learning to draw on an app called Designapp.io. I made my pictures using different shapes and colours. After I made my batman logo next I made a dinosaur and it is a T-Rex.

Calendar Art

We have been designing a calendar masterpiece.  First I made a draft copy.  Then I divided my master copy into a grid.  I used different colours and shades to make houses.

Rivers

This week I have been reading about rivers.  I have found out some information about rivers and put it in a slide show.  First I read my book, then I looked at information on the internet and put it into the slideshow.

Manaakitanga Digi awards 2017

I made an entry for the digi awards 2017, first I made a plan, then we took pictures and put them into iMovies.  I wrote a dialogue and practiced it.  Finally I recorded it and finished my iMovie.

Make Their Day Shop

For Digi Awards a group set up a "Make Their Day Shop". I could buy an ice-block and instead of paying with money I paid with a kind act to make someone's day. I chose to read a book to someone to pay for my ice-block.

Clouds

We are learning to write information reports. First we made a slide show about clouds. Then we used the information from the slideshow for our information report.

Snow

We are learning to write information reports. In literacy we are reading and learning about snow. This is my information report. First we learnt about Antarctica. We made a slide show about snow. We used the information from this for our report.

Weather Art

This term we have been learning about the weather. In art I made a storm painting. First I made my city silhouette. I drew a city with white crayon and cut it out. Next I painted the background. I used dye. I used dark blue, black and light blue dye. When the dye was dry I stuck my city at the bottom of the paper. The next day I painted the storm cloud. I used black paint. Next I painted the lightening with white paint.

Reflective Symmetry

We are learning about reflective symmetry. It is when the image fits on itself. Here is my DLO.

Powertime

During Power Time we have been learning about Growth Mindset.  We watched a short video about Luke Skywalker and Yoda lifting an X-wing out of the lake.  Luke had a Fixed Mindset.  A Fixed Mindset is when you don't think you can do it.  Yoda taught him how to have a Growth Mindset.  A Growth Mindset is  when you keep on trying.  We talked about what we could say to ourselves to change from a Fixed Mindset to a Growth Mindset.  Here is my DLO.

My rainy day art

Walt: use crayon and dye to show movement and ripples in a weather feature.

First we colored in with the crayon. Then when we were finished we used the dye and then we were done.

First we started by sketching then we went started painting the first step was to paint black then we moved onto the next step which was painting white and done that step by step by doing the yellow and the orange then to finish it off we painted the eye green.

Reflection

ANZAC

For the last two weeks we have been learning about ANZAC Day and why we remember the people who have risked their lives for our freedom and our way of life.
- we read stories about the Anzac button and mascots.
- we had a special visitor who showed us a soldiers penny and told us about her families experience of the war.
- we watched some videos about the timeline of the battle at Gallipoli.
Some of the activities we have done are:
- we made our own Anzac button, worked out questions to ask a soldier, we made a Anzac service timeline, we made a set of dog tags and we done some research into the soldiers penny.

My Snot Writing

This week in writing we are learning to show not tell, we had to use adjectives and alliteration.  First we played and touched the snot. As a class we brain stormed the wow words, I used this to write my snot writing.

Budgies
